2,883 new COVID-19 infections logged, active cases climb to 25,293
The Department of Health (DOH) on Thursday monitored an increase in COVID-19 daily tally with 2,883 new cases logged, while the active infections climbed to 25,293.
This was an increase from 1,623 new COVID-19 cases recorded on Wednesday and also came after a two days straight of less than 2,000 daily reported COVID-19 cases.
The DOH said that the active cases also went up from 24,283 on Wednesday.
The new cases also increased the country’s caseload to 3,975,884.
The National Capital Region (NCR) remained the top region with highest cases in the recent two weeks with 11,325 infections reported. It was followed by Calabarzon with 5,429; Central Luzon with 2,890; Davao Region with 1,408; and Western Visayas with 1,019.
Additional 1,743 patients defeated the viral disease bringing the recovery tally to 3,887,188.
Meanwhile, at least 40 new fatalities were recorded increasing the death toll to 63,403.
The DOH said the country’s bed occupancy slightly decreased to 26.3%, with 7,618 beds occupied while 21,324 were vacant as of Tuesday, October 11.
A total of 16,352 individuals were tested, while 342 testing laboratories submitted data as of Wednesday, October 12.—AOL, GMA News
