Police reviewing Percy Lapid's commentaries in past months —Azurin

Authorities are reviewing the commentaries made by slain journalist Percy Lapid in the months leading to his death as part of the investigation, Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Police General Rodolfo Azurin Jr. said Tuesday.

Interviewed on ANC, Azurin said the police are checking Lapid’s commentaries as well as his personal belongings to help determine the motive of the killing.

“We have been also studying 'yung mga commentary niya in several months po and we're continuing backtracking po,” Azurin said.

Azurin said Lapid’s family asked the police to capture not only the perpetrators who killed the journalist but also the one who ordered it.

Lapid, host of the online broadcast program "Percy Lapid Fire" at DWBL 1242 and columnist for Hataw, was shot dead by two men while on his way home in Barangay Talon Dos, Las Piñas City, on October 3.

On Monday, the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) released the confirmed latest photo of the person of interest in the killing.

The reward in exchange for information about the person of interest was increased to P6.5 million, according to the NCRPO. —KBK, GMA News
