Professor Aries Arugay is the chairman of the University of the Philippines Department of Political Science.
In 2004, he started teaching at UP. His research focused mostly on democracy transition, political instability, and issues in digital and social media.
He is also a visiting scholar in several countries including Venezuela, Bolivia, South Korea, Japan, and Australia.
