OVP lists Sara Duterte’s achievements in first 100 days

The Office of Vice President Sara Duterte on Saturday listed their accomplishments in the first 100 days of the Marcos administration.

In a statement, the OVP said it has processed a total of P134,376,764.95 in the medical and burial assistance program since Sara assumed office on July 1.

Of the said amount, a total of P124,579,964.95 and P9,796,800 have already been processed for medical aid and burial assistance, respectively.

A total of 13,315 recipients were served in all seven OVP satellite offices and OVP main office as of October 5.

The OVP said the medical and burial assistance for indigent Filipinos program has already arranged a partnership with the Department of Health (DOH) for the Medical Assistance to Indigent Patients Program (MAIPP) which covers at least 31 public hospitals all over the country.

The office added it also arranged a partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) for the release of Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS).

For the OVP medical services, a maximum of P20,000 in amount through guarantee letter and medicines in kind are provided for each beneficiary, while burial assistance is given through petty cash.

On the OVP’s Libreng Sakay Program, the office said the program has served a total of 98,293 people in 1,470 trips nationwide.

The program, in partnership with the Department of Transportation, was launched in Metro Manila in Luzon, in the cities of Cebu, Lapu-lapu, Mandaue and Bacolod in the Visayas, and Davao City in Mindanao on August 3.

In her first 100 days since assuming office, the OVP said it has already distributed a total of 3,220 school supplies and hygiene kits as part of the “PagbaBAGo” campaign.

The campaign benefitted 3,220 students from six remote areas in the country — Limasawa Island in Southern Leyte, Jordan town in Island Province of Guimaras, Caramoan in Camarines Sur, Kidapawan City in North Cotabato, Siguijor Province, Dasmariñas in Cavite, and Bangued in Abra, the office said.

The Vice President’s ‘PagbaBAGo’ campaign is a program which aims to instill the importance of basic education and nurture the right attitude among young Filipinos to succeed in life, the OVP said.

The “PagbaBAGo” campaign was Sara’s program when she was still mayor of Davao City and became part of the OVP’s activities during her visits in cities and towns across the country.

Aside from distributing the bags, the Vice President also talks to the children’s parents, convincing them to practice responsible parenthood and family planning, the OVP said.

Sara, who is also the Secretary of Education, has repeatedly reminded parents that their children will have better chances in life when they get good jobs after finishing proper education, the office said. —KG, GMA News
