New press secretary to be named next week - Marcos
President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. said Thursday that a new press secretary would be named next week.
In an interview with reporters, Marcos said there are three candidates for the post, which was vacated by lawyer Trixie Cruz-Angeles on Tuesday due to health reasons.
The President declined to identify those on the shortlist.
“Early next week, we’ll announce [it],” he said.

Marcos said that he needs somebody who is experienced in messaging, such as a media practitioner.
“That’s what’s important, that we get the information, the [message] across,” he said.
On Wednesday, Transportation Undersecretary Cesar Chavez disclosed that, aside from him, Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation director Gilbert Remulla and lawyer Michael Toledo were being eyed to replace Cruz-Angeles.
Chavez said he was not interested in the position, although he had yet to make a final decision on the matter.
"Flattered" by the consideration, Remulla said that he was in the process of “deep discernment.”
Toledo, meanwhile, said he was open to accepting the job if given the "opportunity to serve." — VBL, GMA News
