Estrella, Loyzaga, Frasco, 63 AFP officers secure CA approval

The Commission on Appointments (CA) on Tuesday confirmed the ad interim appointments of Agrarian Reform Secretary Conrado Estrella III, Environment Secretary Ma. Antonia Yulo Gonzaga, and Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco, and the promotions of 63 officers of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).

This came after the CA committees on agrarian reform, environment and natural resources, and tourism recommended the confirmation of their appointments to the plenary.

The promotions of the following 63 AFP officers were likewise approved:

All AFP officers got the bicameral committee's approval, even though Senator Risa Hontiveros had expressed opposition to Candelaria's promotion due to his inclusion in the list of respondents in the fatal hazing of Cadet 4th Class Darwin Dormitorio in 2019. — VBL, GMA News
