Comelec to put serial numbers on ballots for 2022 brgy, SK polls —Garcia
The Commission on Elections (Comelec) will print serial numbers on the ballots that will be used in the 2022 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE).
Comelec Chairman George Garcia disclosed this Tuesday as he explained the rationale behind the poll body's plan to move the dates of the filing of certificates of candidacy for the December 5, 2022 BSKE.
"The period of our printing of the ballots will have to be adjusted simply because we are now at the NPO... The NPO will be putting new features on our ballots, an ascending serial number on the ballots which we can only see on our paper money," Garcia said in an interview on ANC.
"These are new features and so we would like to adjust the (dates of the) filing of the candidacy so we can likewise adjust the printing of the ballots," he added.
Garcia said the Comelec will now start the printing of the ballots for the Ormoc City plebiscite at the National Printing Office.
After which, they will start the printing of the ballots for the 2022 BSKE.
