PNP implements maximum deployment after VP Sara call for ‘no mercy’ vs. terrorists, criminals
The Philippine National Police will now be deploying most of its personnel outside the offices in response to the order of Vice President Sara Duterte to show no mercy to criminals and terrorists.
In a press conference, PNP spokesperson Police Colonel Jean Fajardo said the directive from the Vice President is to intensify and ensure the security of the public.
“Ang instruction po ay maximum deployment po tayo. Hindi lamang sa mga eskwelahan dahil meron na nga po tayong face-to-face classes pati na rin po sa commercial establishments at financial institutions,” she said.
(The instruction is maximum deployment. Not only in schools considering that there are already face-to-face classes but also in commercial establishments and financial institutions.)
Fajardo said the PNP usually designates 80% of its personnel for deployment outdoors and 15% for administrative duties.
With the start of the “ber” months, she said majority of the over 200,000 PNP officers will be deployed except for some investigators and non-uniformed personnel who will accommodate walk-in complaints.
Duterte earlier had a meeting with heads of the security sector to discuss how to maintain peace and order in the country while President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. is on state visits to Indonesia and Singapore.
She was assigned as the country's officer-in-charge.
The objective of the meeting was to “strengthen existing coordination and enhance interagency cooperation on issues concerning our national security and the country’s development,” she said.—AOL, GMA News
