SSS: No member data records affected in main office fire


The Social Security System (SSS) said that no member data records were affected in the fire that hit its main office early Sunday morning.

In a statement, the SSS said that all payments will still be accepted and posted accordingly.

“SSS assures the public that all member data records are not affected and there is no interruption in the delivery of its services in all branches and via online thru My.SSS, SSS Mobile App, and uSSSap Tayo portals,” it added.

The agency said that the August 28 fire at the Quezon City main office building's UPS Room broke out at 1:43 a.m.

The building’s fire suppressant system was able to contain the blaze and kept it from spreading to other areas.

Firefighters declared the fire under control at 3:35 a.m.

Super Radyo dzBB's Luisito Santos reported that the fire had reached the first alarm before being put out at about 5 a.m.

SSS thanked the Bureau of Fire Protection Quezon City Station 4 for its timely response. — DVM, GMA News
