DOH posts 3,580 new COVID-19 cases, active cases drop to 30,240
The Department of Health (DOH) on Wednesday registered 3,580 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the nationwide tally to 3,864,034.
This was the highest daily tally in three days, on the 10th straight day of fewer than 4,000 cases.
Based on the DOH’s latest data, the active case tally further went down to 30,240 from 31,542 on Tuesday.
In the recent two weeks, the National Capital Region (NCR) logged 13,256 cases, followed by Calabarzon with 7,404, Central Luzon with 4,382, Western Visayas with 2,299, and Cagayan Valley with 1,896.
The DOH said the country’s recovery tally also increased to 3,772,318 with 4,794 new recoveries, this was the highest in four days.
Meanwhile, at least 50 new deaths were recorded as the death tally climbed to 61,476.
The Health department said a total of 8,712 beds were occupied, while 20,476 were vacant as the bed occupancy in the country slightly increased to 29.8% as of Monday, August 22.
