Regular, special non-working days for 2023
Malacañang on Tuesday released the list of regular holidays and special non-working days for 2023.
Executive Secretary Victor Rodriguez signed Proclamation No. 42 on August 22, declaring the following as regular holidays for next year:
- New Year's Day - January 1
- Araw ng Kagitingan - April 9
- Maundy Thursday - April 6
- Good Friday - April 7
- Labor Day - May 1
- Independence Day - June 12
- National Heroes Day - August 28
- Bonifacio Day - November 30
- Christmas Day - December 25
- Rizal Day - December 30
Special non-working days include the following:
- EDSA People Power Revolution Anniversary - February 25
- Black Saturday - April 8
- Ninoy Aquino Day - August 21
- All Saints' Day - November 1
- Feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary - December 8
- Last Day of the Year - December 31
- Additional Special Non-Working Day - November 2

The said proclamation states that declaring national holidays for the observance of Eid'l Fitr and Eid'l Adha shall be issued after the approximate dates of the Islamic holidays have been determined in accordance with the Islamic calendar, or the lunar calendar, or upon the Islamic astronomical calculations, whichever is possible or convenient.
The Labor department, meanwhile, is directed to promulgate guidelines for the said proclamation.—LDF, GMA News
