Supporters honor Ninoy Aquino on his 39th death anniversary
Groups of supporters on Sunday gathered at the Bantayog ng mga Bayani in Quezon City to honor the late Senator Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino, Jr. on the 39th anniversary of his death.

Ballsy and Viel
At the Manila Memorial Park in Parañaque City, Ninoy's daughters Ballsy Aquino-Cruz and Viel Aquino-Dee visited the tombs of their parents Ninoy and President Cory Aquino, and their brother President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III .
The youngest of the siblings, Kris Aguino, is currently in the United States receiving treatment for her autoimmune diseases.
President “Noynoy” popularly known as PNoy was the lone brother of the Aquino siblings.

Senator Aquino was assassinated on August 21, 1983 upon his return to Manila from self-exile in the United States.
On August 3, 2020, then President Rodrigo Duterte approved the list of regular and special non-working days for 2021 -- which includes August 21 as Ninoy Aquino Day -- through Proclamation 986 signed on July 30 last year. —GMA News
