Philippines logs 3,748 new COVID-19 cases; active tally at 37,225
The Department of Health (DOH) on Friday reported 3,748 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the nationwide caseload to 3,848,449.
The new cases brought the country’s active case count to 37,225, up from 36,115 on Thursday.
The top regions with cases in the past two weeks were the National Capital Region with 14,471, followed by Calabarzon with 8,877, Central Luzon with 4,931, Western Visayas with 2,576, and Cagayan Valley with 2,230.
An additional 2,591 patients defeated the viral disease, taking the country's recovery tally to 3,749,963.
The country’s death tally is now at 61,261 with 40 new deaths, the lowest in seven days.
A total of 22,964 individuals were tested for the coronavirus on Thursday, while 328 testing laboratories submitted data.
As of Thursday, the nationwide bed occupancy rate stood at 30.6%, with 8,929 beds occupied and 20,226 beds vacant. —VBL, GMA News
