4 ambassadors pay courtesy call on VP Sara Duterte
Four ambassadors paid courtesy visits to Vice President Sara Duterte on Wednesday.
These are the ambassadors from the countries of Italy, Ireland, Vietnam, and Laos.
Italian Ambassador to the Philippines Marco Clemente visited Duterte at her office in the Department of Education Central Office this morning.
Duterte said the Italian ambassador expressed his support to Filipino students in public schools and encouraged to introduce Italian culture in the country, particularly in music and theater.
The visit was followed by Irish Ambassador to the Philippines William John Carlos, with which Duterte said they discussed bilateral relations between Ireland and the Philippines.

The Vice President said the Irish ambassador expressed commitment to help the Philippines in matters of culture and education.
Meanwhile, Vietnamese Ambassador to the Philippines Hoang Huy Chung also paid a courtesy visit to Duterte.
Chung also gave Duterte a painting from Vietnam Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan, which she immediately hung at the DepEd’s conference room.

“The Philippines will always be with Vietnam in good times and in bad times,” Duterte said.
Lao Ambassador to the Philippines Songkane Luangmuninthone was the last who visited the vice president on Wednesday afternoon.

Duterte said they talked about bilateral relations in the education sector including the importance of English language as a medium of instruction in schools.
She said they saw that most of the English teachers in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) are Filipinos.
The Vice President added that they also discussed the plan to coordinate with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) to accommodate other Laos university students to visit and study in the Philippines. -- BAP, GMA News
