2,646 new COVID-19 infections recorded, active cases down to 32,099
The Department of Health on Tuesday recorded 2,646 new COVID-19 infections, down from 3,553 cases on Monday.
Active cases also went down to 32,099 from 34,268 the day before, even as the nationwide tally since the pandemic broke out over two years ago rose to 3,782,822.
In the past two weeks, the National Capital Region logged 14,821 cases, followed by Calabarzon with 9,715, Central Luzon with 4,551, Western Visayas with 2,642, and Central Visayas with 2,022.
There were 4,801 new recoveries, bringing the overall tally to 3,689,974.
Twelve people were added to the death toll, which climbed to 60,749.
Meanwhile, a total of 8,334 beds were occupied, while 20,438 were vacant, as the bed occupancy rate nationwide was at 29% as of Monday.
A total of 21,455 individuals were tested for the coronavirus on Monday, while 327 testing laboratories submitted data. —VBL, GMA News
