Marcos declares period of mourning for Fidel V. Ramos
President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. has declared a period of national mourning following the death of former President Fidel V. Ramos.
This will be effective 10 days from the official announcement of the former President's death, the Office of the President said Monday.
Chapter 1 of the Republic Act No. 8491 or the "Flag and Heraldic Code of the Philippines" states that the Philippine flag shall be flown at half-mast as a sign of mourning on all buildings and places it is displayed.
On Sunday, Marcos offered his condolences to the family of Ramos, who passed away at the age of 94. He also called on Filipinos to pray for Ramos's eternal repose.
