DOH logs 4,159 COVID-19 cases; active tally at 33,622
The Department of Health (DOH) on Sunday recorded 4,159 new COVID-19 cases, the highest single-day tally since February 10.
The new infections increased the total nationwide COVID-19 tally to 3,776,627.
Based on the DOH’s latest data, the country’s active cases increased to 33,622 from 33,509 on Saturday.
The number of recoveries climbed to 3,682,278 while the death toll rose by eight cases to 60,727.
According to the DOH, the regions with the most cases in the last two weeks were the National Capital Region with 14,107 followed by Calabarzon with 9,282 and Central Luzon with 4,401.
The Health Department said at least 20,282 individuals were tested, while 313 testing labs submitted data on July 30.
It noted that the bed occupancy in the country was 27.6%, with 7,952 beds occupied, while 20,911 were vacant. — BM, GMA News
