Marcos swears in Jerry Acuzar as human settlements secretary

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Friday swore in Jose "Jerry" Acuzar as the secretary of the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development, a post on Radio Television Malacanang showed.

According to an online encyclopedia of Balanga City, Acuzar is the chairman of the New San Jose Builders, Inc. and is the owner of Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar in Bagac.

He owns several condominiums in Metro Manila and in Balanga.

Acuzar is the brother-in-law of Atty. Paquito Ochoa, the executive secretary of the late former President Benigno Aquino III.

Created by Republic Act No. 11201, the DHSUD in 2019 assumed the functions of the Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council and the Housing and Land Use Regulatory Board. -NB, GMA News
