DOH logs 3,858 new COVID-19 cases, highest daily tally since February
The Department of Health (DOH) on Thursday logged 3,858 new cases, the highest daily tally in 24 weeks, or since February 10.
According to the DOH’s latest data, the new cases bring the nationwide total to 3,764,346.
The DOH said active cases also increased to 29,897, the highest total in 16 weeks, or since April 8.
The National Capital Region (NCR) reported 13,135 new cases in the recent two weeks, followed by Calabarzon with 8,504, Central Luzon with 3,923, Western Visayas with 2,465 and Central Visayas with 1,526.
At least 1,705 new recoveries brought the recovery tally to 3,673,745, while the number of deaths also climbed to 60,704.
The DOH said at least 22,932 individuals were tested, while 323 testing laboratories submitted data as of July 27.
The nationwide bed occupancy rate is at 27.1%, while the number of beds occupied were 7,766, while 20,933 were vacant. — Richa Noriega/BM, GMA News
