Games and Amusement Board: No personnel among e-sabong suspects

The Games and Amusements Board (GAB) on Monday clarified they have no personnel among the suspects arrested in Parañaque City for allegedly operating illegal online cockfighting or "e-sabong".

According to a report on "24 Oras", the Philippine National Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group on Friday collared five suspects supposedly abetting illegal gambling.

Information from the police identified one of them as affiliated with the GAB.

"We are still looking into why GAB was mentioned in the reports, including the possibility that one of the suspects may have been a license (either gaffer or athlete) of GAB," said lawyer Ermar Benitez, GAB OIC and legal chief.  -- Sundy Mae Locus/BAP, GMA News
