Marcos arrives at Batasan for first SONA
President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. has arrived at Batasang Pambansa Complex in Quezon City for his first State of the Nation Address (SONA).
Marcos arrived via chopper at 3:32 p.m., according to GMA News' Ivan Mayrina. He was welcomed by Speaker Martin Romualdez and Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri.
More than 1,300 personalities were invited to attend the SONA, including Vice President Sara Duterte, former presidents, vice presidents, speakers, Senate presidents, diplomatic corps, justices, and members of Marcos' Cabinet.
Executive Secretary Vic Rodriguez earlier said Marcos' SONA will cover the administration's agenda for economic recovery, resumption of face-to-face classes, and COVID-19 response.
Rodriguez said it was Marcos himself who wrote his speech. —Anna Felicia Bajo/KBK, GMA News
