1,604 new COVID-19 cases logged; active tally climbs to 14,862
The Philippines logged 1,604 new COVID-19 cases, while the active tally rose to 14,862, according to the Department of Health (DOH) on Wednesday.
Based on the DOH’s latest figures, the new cases bring the nationwide tally to 3,723,014.
The DOH reported that the active cases also increased by 398 to 14,862 from 14,464 on Tuesday.
The National Capital Region (NCR) recorded 8,251 new cases in the recent two weeks, followed by Calabarzon with 3,880, Western Visayas with 1,636, Central Luzon with 1,591, and Central Visayas with 706.
The country’s recovery tally also increased to 3,647,512, while the number of deaths remained at 60,460.
The DOH reported a total of 6,455 beds were occupied, while 22,787 were vacant as the bed occupancy in the country slightly increased to 22.1% from the earlier 21%.
Meanwhile, at least 24,437 individuals were tested, while 330 testing labs submitted data as of July 12. — Richa Noriega/BM, GMA News
