Marcos’ doctor says Bongbong on way to complete recovery
President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. is on his way to complete recovery from COVID-19, his lead doctor said in a health bulletin on Monday.
According to the bulletin Malacañang released, Dr. Samuel Zacate, examined the Chief Executive on Monday morning in his residence. Zacate said Marcos has no fever and body malaise.
"The DOH protocol was explained to him by me, his lead physician, Dr. Samuel Zacate, and in my clinical opinion, he is on his way to a complete recovery," Zacate said.
Zacate said Marcos no longer had cough but was still experiencing "very mild nasal stuffiness and nasal itchiness."
Additional medication was given to Marcos, Zacate added.
The doctor said the President's vital signs were "within normal limits and exemplary," adding that he is not experiencing other COVID-19 symptoms.
Marcos' throat "has no noticeable inflammation and no signs of respiratory compromise," according to Zacate.
Marcos tested positive for COVID-19 via antigen test last Friday, July 8. An RT-PCR test confirmed his infection.
The President was advised to undergo a seven-day isolation. Despite this, he will preside over his second Cabinet meeting on Tuesday, July 12, through teleconferencing. —NB, GMA News
