Liza Diño to stay as FDCP chair in 'holdover capacity' —press secretary
Press Secretary Trixie Cruz-Angeles clarified on Thursday that Liza Diño would remain as Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) chairman in a "holdover capacity."
This as the appointment papers of actor Tirso Cruz III, Diño's successor, are still pending. Cruz-Angeles said that under Republic Act 9167, the chairman has a term of three years, unless removed by the President.
"Ms. Diño was reappointed by President Duterte and was serving a second term when President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. exercised his power to remove the current chair and appoint a new one," Cruz-Angeles said in a statement.
"However, while Mr. Tirso Cruz III's documents are pending, Ms. Diño remains in a holdover capacity," she added.
