Sara Duterte meets with China's top diplomat Wang Yi

Vice President Sara Duterte met with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Wednesday afternoon.

According to Nimfa Ravelo’s Super Radyo dzBB report, the Chinese government official paid a courtesy call on Duterte at a hotel in Makati City.

Several officials were also present during the meeting, including Foreign Affairs Secretary Enrique Manalo and China's Ambassador to the Philippines Huang Xilian.

In a Facebook post, Duterte said the meeting focused on how to further strengthen the alliance between the Philippines and China.

Wang also paid a courtesy call on President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. on Wednesday.

The Chinese official arrived in the Philippines on Tuesday night, where he was welcomed by officials from the Department of Foreign Affairs. —Richa Noriega/VBL, GMA News
