Jinggoy on Erap bank accounts probe: They can open everything
Senator Jinggoy Estrada on Monday said his family is "unfazed" by the Supreme Court's order to continue the investigation of the bank accounts of his father, former President Joseph Estrada.
In an interview with reporters, the returning senator said nobody from their family is aware of the recent decision of the high court but added they are ready to face the orders.
"Nobody knows. Even our lawyers do not know about it...We are totally unfazed. They can open everything," he said.
Last week, the Supreme Court released its decision ordering the Office of the Ombudsman to continue with the investigation of the bank accounts of Estrada and his alleged mistresses.
The High Tribunal had junked the petition filed by the Philippine National Bank, formerly the Allied Banking Corporation, which challenged the Ombudsman's ruling ordering the bank to produce records of the savings, current, time deposit, trust and foreign currency deposits in the names of the former chief executive, Jose Velarde, Laarni Enriquez, Guia Gomez, Joe Melendrez, Peachy Osorio, Rowena Lopez, and Kevin or Kelvin Garcia.—LDF, GMA News
