Alan Cayetano vows to again push P10-K ayuda bill in Congress

Senator Alan Peter Cayetano on Friday said he would immediately file a measure for a one-time cash aid worth P10,000 to each Filipino family.

Cayetano made the remarks at the oath-taking ceremony of newly elected officials of Taguig City on Thursday.

He, however, stressed that the “10K Ayuda” Bill would action from the Senate, House of Representatives, and Malacañang.

“Sa mga nagbabash sa 10k ayuda, kung kaya ko lang silang bigyan ng tag-sampung libo, binigay ko na sa kanila. Pero sa katotohanan ito’y isang legislative proposal,” Cayetano said.

(To those who have been bashing the 10k cash aid, I would have given them P10,000 each if I could . But in reality, this is a legislative proposal.)

“So ang hinihingi ko po doon sa mga tumutuligsa sa programang Sampung Libong (Pag-asa) during the pandemic, tumulong na lang kayo,” he added.

(To those who have been criticizing the Sampung Libong Pag-asa during the pandemic, just help.)

Cayetano urged Taguig-Pateros Rep. Ricardo ‘Ading’ Cruz Jr. and Taguig 2nd District Rep. Maria Amparo "Pammy" Zamora to also the counterpart bill in the House of Representatives.

“Today may I take the opportunity to ask that two of my pet bills, ‘yung moral uprightness at y’ung sampung libong ayuda, ay i-file din ng ating partner sa Kongreso ni Congresswoman Pammy at Congressman Ading para sabay po lumarga ang ating mga pet bills,” Cayetano said.

(Today may I take the opportunity to ask that two of my pet bills — the moral uprightness and P10k ayuda — be filed by our partners in Congress, Rep. Pammy and Rep. Ading so our pet bills will be passed.)

Cayetano filed a House version of the bill as Taguig representative in February 2021 but it was not included in the Bayanihan 3 package.

He likewise established the “Sampung Libong Pag-asa” program in May 2021 but it was put on hold on February 7, 2022, in line with the campaign rules of the Commission on Elections.  —NB, GMA News
