Lorenzana thanks Mayor-elect Lacuna for saving him from possible injury
Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana on Tuesday thanked Manila Mayor-elect Honey Lacuna from saving him "from a possible life-altering injury" last Sunday.
Lorenzana was attending the Independence Day ceremony at Rizal Park in Manila on Sunday morning when he fainted from heat and exhaustion.
A screenshot from a 24 Oras report shared by Lorenzana on Facebook shows Lacuna, who is a doctor and was also present during the ceremony, catching him as he fell.
"Do you believe in miracles? I do. Last Sunday, Mayor-elect Dra. Honey Lacuna of Manila saved me from a possible life-altering injury when I fainted due to the heat and exhaustion," Lorenzana said on Facebook.
"Thank you again, Mayor Honey, for being at the right place, at the right time!"
According to Defense spokesperson Arsenio Andolong, Lorenzana, who is 73 years old, had a "hectic schedule" in the past few weeks, which, coupled with the hot weather on Sunday resulted in fatigue.
Hours before the Rizal Park event, Lorenzana arrived from Singapore where he attended the IISS Shangri-La Dialogue.
Lorenzana is already in stable condition. —KBK, GMA News
