Duterte to grace Independence Day rites in Rizal Park

President Rodrigo Duterte will be physically present in leading the commemoration of the country's 124th Independence Day on June 12 in Rizal Park.

An advisory sent by the Palace to reporters states that Duterte will be gracing the Independence Day commemoration rites themed "Kalayaan 2022: Pagsuong sa Hamon ng Panibagong Bukas."

The occasion will mark the last time Duterte will be leading the event as president since his term of office ends on June 30.

Last year, Duterte attended the Independence day celebrations in Malolos City, Bulacan, the home of the first Philippine Republic.

After the Independence day celebration on June 12, the President will also be present in the naming and commissioning of BRP Melchora Aquino in Port Area, Manila.

Duterte will then proceed to the lowering of the tunnel boring machine, as well as train demonstration and unveiling of the Philippine Railways Institute Interim Simulator Training Center of the Metro Manila Subway Project in Valenzuela City, according to the advisory. —Llanesca T.
