Marcos meets with several senators, House members to tackle legislative plans

President-elect Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.  met with several senators on Tuesday for a brief talk on the legislative agenda of the 19th Congress.

Senator Migz Zubiri shared photos of the get-together at the headquarters of Marcos in Mandaluyong City.

The meeting came as the race for the Senate presidency heats up between Zubiri and Senator Cynthia Villar.

In a news release, the office of Marcos said the meeting with the Senate contingent and with incumbent House Majority Leader Martin Romualdez tackled the legislative plans for the next six years of the incoming administration.

On Monday, Zubiri said Marcos had asked him in their earlier conversation to sit down with Romualdez to begin drawing up the legislative agenda of the next Congress.

"So we have a series of meeting and we've been discussing how we can assist the President-elect on his legislative agenda," he said.

Zubiri was accompanied by Senators Nancy Binay, Ronald dela Rosa, JV Ejercito, Jinggoy Estrada, Lito Lapid, Loren Legarda, Ralph Recto, Bong Revilla and Raffy Tulfo.

Romualdez came with Representatives Janette Garin of Iloilo and Tonypet Albano of Isabela.
