Duterte starts arranging retirement as private citizen in Davao
According to one of his closest allies, President Rodrigo Duterte has started to make arrangements for his retirement in Davao City once he finishes his term at the end of June.
According to former Special Assistant to the President and now Senator Christopher “Bong” Go, Duterte started to pack up and arranged the transfer to his home in Davao City to spend his retirement as a private citizen.
Duterte’s term is set to end on June 30, when President-elect Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. is set to take over as declared by Congress last week.
Duterte said that he did his best to deliver what he could for the country adding that the past six years were what his best efforts could achieve, apologizing if that was not enough.
Marcos was proclaimed as the 17th President of the Philippines, with his running mate and presidential daughter Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte as the next vice president.
Marcos and the younger Duterte are the first tandem to be elected to the two top elective positions since 2004 when President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and then-Senator Noli De Casto were proclaimed winners. — DVM, GMA News
