199 new COVID-19 cases logged; active tally reaches 2,434
The Philippines on Saturday logged 199 new COVID-19 infections, bringing the nationwide caseload to 3,690,055.
The new cases brought the country's active case count to 2,434, a slight increase from the 2,422 recorded on Friday, according to the Department of Health (DOH)’s latest data.
The DOH said a total of 3,627,166 patients recovered from the viral disease.
No new deaths were recorded as the country’s death toll stood at 60,455.
According to the DOH, the top regions with cases in the last two weeks were the National Capital Region with 1,010, followed by Calabarzon with 359, and Central Luzon with 265.
A total of 18,531 individuals were tested on Friday, while 317 testing laboratories submitted data.
Meanwhile, the nationwide bed occupancy rate was 16.7% as of Friday.
The number of beds occupied was 5,115, while 25,508 were vacant. —VBL, GMA News
