Philippines' 209 new COVID-19 cases bring active tally to 2,422
The Department of Health (DOH) on Friday recorded 209 new COVID-19 infections, bringing the country’s caseload to 3,689,865.
Based on the DOH’s latest data, the active infections increased to 2,422 from 2,323 on Thursday.
The DOH reported that top regions with cases in the recent two weeks were the National Capital Region (NCR) with 989 followed by Region IV-A with 355 and Region III with 272.
More patients defeated the viral disease, which brings the recovery tally to 3,626,988.
Meanwhile, new fatalities pushed the country’s death toll to 60,455.
The Philippines’ bed occupancy rate stood to 17.5% as of Wednesday, May 25, according to the latest data.
A total of 5,388 beds were occupied, while 25,342 were vacant.
At least 19,662 individuals were tested, with 322 testing laboratories submitted data as of May 26, Thursday.—LDF, GMA News
