Duterte pays last respects to Susan Roces

President Rodrigo Duterte on Wednesday night visited the wake of the late Queen of Philippine Movies, actress Susan Roces.

Duterte went to Heritage Park with Senator Bong Go and was was met by Roces' daughter, Senator Grace Poe.

It was the last night of Roces' wake as her interment at the Manila North Cemetery had been scheduled on Thursday.

Roces, who passed away on Friday, was the widow of actor Fernando Poe Jr., the King of Philippine Movies.

"With great sadness, we announce the loss of our beloved Jesusa Sonora Poe, whom many of you know as Susan Roces," Grace said in a message then.

"She passed away peacefully on a Friday evening, May 20, 2022, surrounded by love and warmth, with her daughter Grace, her nephews Joseph and Jeffrey and many of her family and close friends," she added.

"She lived life fully and gracefully. Remember her in her beauty, warmth and kindness," Grace said.

Grace was one of the other presidential candidates who ran in Eleksyon 2016, which Duterte won.  —NB, GMA News
