UP to release college application results on May 31, 2022

The University of the Philippines on Wednesday said that it will release results of the UP College Application (UPCA) for Academic Year 2022–2023 on May 31.

In an advisory posted on its Facebook page, the university reminded applicants to make sure that the email address they used in the application portal is active, can be accessed, and can send and receive new emails.

“If the email address you provided is no longer accessible, please email your concern at upcollegeapplications.oadms@up.edu.ph,” it said.

For two consecutive years, UP suspended the UP College Admissions Test (UPCAT), due to the "immense logistical challenge" of administering the exam in a pandemic.

Without an admission exam, students are assessed on their high school performance.

“In the absence of a college admission test, a composite of the final grades in Grades 8, 9, 10 and 11 shall be the basis to determine the UPG [UP admission grade],” UP said.

Meanwhile, the university may ask for additional requirements for specific degree programs for admission if deemed necessary.

To implement the policy of democratic access, the university will also consider socioeconomic and geographic factors in its admission process. — Mel Matthew Doctor/BM, GMA News
