Susan Roces receives recognition as Living Legend-Outstanding Filipino by PHLPost
The Philippine Postal Corporation handed to Senator Grace Poe Tuesday night a token of appreciation in recognition of the contribution of her late mother Susan Roces to the country through film and television.
In February, PhilPost recognized Roces and nine other outstanding Filipinos who excelled and proven to be an inspiration in theater and visual arts, science and technology, and sports.
"The Post Office honored Susan Roces, the Queen of Philippine Movies, as an Outstanding Filipino last February. Her memory will live on, and people will remember her for giving joy and pride to the nation through film and television," PHLPost meanwhile said in a Facebook post Wednesday.
Roces joined Nora Aunor, Gloria Romero, Rosa Rosal, and Vilma Santos; scientists Dr. Ernesto O. Domingo and Dr. Baldomero Olivera; and bowler Olivia “Bong” Coo and basketball player “El Presidente” Ramon Fernandez.
They were featured in a new stamp collection called the “Living Legends - Outstanding Filipinos: Series I.”
In a tweet, Poe posted photos of her receiving the token of appreciation, on behalf of her mother, from PHLPost officials.
