House Sergeant-at-Arms Ret. Police Brigadier General Rodelio Jocson met Senate Sergeant-at-Arms Ret. Major General Rene Samonte as the convoy of trucks reached the Batasang Pambansa, according to a report by Saleema Refran on Unang Balita.
The ballot boxes were unloaded from the trucks and had to undergo K9 inspection.

These were then inspected by the canvassing board secretariat then subjected to X-ray inspection.
The ballot boxes were then brought to a secured holding area at the plenary.
"Ang instruction sa akin, i-secure maige and transparent dapat 'yung proseso, 'yung pagbaba nito, nakikita at tsetsekin nating maige kung may problema 'yung mga binitbit. Kaya binubusisi nilang maige 'yan. Tsinetsek 'yung mga numbers and everything," Jocson said.
(The instruction to me was to secure it well and ensure that the process is transparent, from the unloading and checking to see if there is any problem with the boxes. That is why these undergo strict inspection. They are checking the numbers and everything.)
The unloading of ballot boxes is expected to be finished at 9 a.m. Monday.
The Senate has so far received 90.17% or 156 COCs out of the total 173 COCs. It will continue receiving COCs on Tuesday.
Canvassing
The COCs and ERs will be used for the canvassing of votes for president and vice president which will start on Tuesday.
The Senate and the House of Representatives will have a joint session on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Batasang Pambansa and will convene as the National Board of Canvassers at 3 p.m.
Canvassing will continue on Wednesday and the following days starting at 10 a.m. to end at 10 p.m., but this may change depending on how fast the process will be.
The presiding officers during the canvassing are Senate President Vicente Sotto III and Speaker Lord Allan Velasco.
Each contingent of the chamber has seven members with four alternate members.
Since the elections are already automated, the consolidation and canvassing system (CCS) at the House already received the transmission of COCs on May 9, Election Day.
During the canvassing, the NBOC will open the electronically transmitted COCs from the CCS and the manually counted and physically delivered COCs.
Velasco on Sunday said canvassing of votes for president and vice president will be fast, transparent and credible.
He said canvassing will continue even if there are ongoing cases at the Supreme Court.
The NBOC is targeting to proclaim the winners in the presidential and vice presidential race on Friday, May 27. —KG, GMA News
