Comelec wraps up transparency server operations at UST
The Commission on Elections (Comelec) wrapped up the operations of the transparency media server at the University of Santo Tomas (UST).
According to Lei Alviz’s “24 Oras” report on Friday, the Comelec said there were no expected transmission of vote counting machines (VCMs) except for the results of the special elections in Lanao del Sur.
The number of transmitted election returns on the transparency server was 98.35% since Thursday night.
The Comelec said this led to shutting down the operations of the media server at the UST.
“Meron tayong inaasahang special elections doon sa Lanao del Sur, [in] Tubaran. Only 15 clustered precincts na pwede nang hindi isama dito sa ating media servers,” Comelec commissioner Marlon Casquejo said.
(We are expecting special elections in Lanao del Sur, Tubaran. Only 15 clustered precincts that we don't need to include in our media servers.)
However, the records would still be available for review even if the server was closed.
The Comelec also said the transmission of the election results was successful.
“Gusto kong pasalamatan lahat ng mga nandito lahat ng mga sakripisyo natin during elections alam naman natin very successful ang ating transmission. Wala tayong nangyaring seven-hour glitch in our transmission,” Casquejo said.
(I want to thank everyone here for all their sacrifices during elections, our transmission is very successful. We did not have a seven-hour glitch during our transmission.)
Meanwhile, election returns continue to arrive from the precincts for manual validation by the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV).
They are comparing it with the transmitted results to validate if they match.
As of 5 p.m., the PPCRV received 45,135 election returns. These were mostly from Luzon, while at least 4,000 from Visayas, and more than 1,000 from Mindanao.
The PPCRV earlier reported a 100% match between the 16,820 election returns it had processed and the tally in the transparency media server for the 2022 elections. — Richa Noriega/DVM, GMA News
