DA eyes transition talks with Marcos camp in next 2 weeks —Dar
The Department of Agriculture (DA) is targeting to start its transition talks with the camp of leading presidential candidate Ferdinand Marcos Jr. later this month, Agriculture Secretary William Dar said Wednesday.
“We are readying transition documents,” Dar said at a virtual forum organized by the Economic Journalists Association of the Philippines.
“Within the next two weeks, we will seek an audience to the transition camp of president-elect Bongbong Marcos,” he said.
Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez III on Tuesday said the Duterte administration’s economic team has already started transition discussions with Marcos Jr.’s camp “several weeks ago when we briefed teams of other candidates.”
Dar said that the DA is “very proactive” in what items in the agency’s programs “must be continued by the next administration.”
Among those that will be included in the DA’s transition documents is its long-term strategic plan or roadmap, called National Agriculture and Fisheries Modernization and Industrialization Plan.—AOL, GMA News
