NBOC canvasses votes from Cordillera provinces, one city

The Commission on Elections (Comelec), sitting as National Board of Canvassers (NBOC), canvassed the votes coming from the Cordillera provinces and one city.

The provinces of Abra, Kalinga, Apayao, Mountain Province, Benguet, Ifugao, and the city of Malabon successfully transmitted complete results of Eleksyon 2022.

The votes canvassed by the NBOC were considered as the partial and official results of this year’s elections.

In an ambush interview, Comelec spokesperson Rex Laudiangco vouched for the accuracy of the automated election system citing the results of the elections in Malabon City.

The NBOC received the first hard copy of a certificate of canvass (COC) from Malabon City on Tuesday afternoon.

It was the first COC officially canvassed by the poll body in Eleksyon 2022 at around 7 p.m.

“So yung kanina dumating, Malabon,we took the opportunity to present to them. See tatlo po yung pinakita kanina sa Malabon, just to show the accuracy of the system,” Laudiangco said.

“The hard copy coming in from the Malabon City Board of Canvassers, the next one is the electronic copy as flash on the screen, the third one yung printed na ginenerate. See all these copies produced the same results kaya wala kayong narinig na objection sa parties, counsels and watchers kanina,” he added.

The results of the canvassed votes have yet to be released.

Laudiangco said they did not wait for the copies of the COCs coming from the field in accordance with the rules of the Comelec Resolution No. 10786 Section 13, which the primary results are those electronically transmitted.

Meanwhile, the poll body will also create a sub-canvassing body for party-list groups.

The NBOC suspended its session on Tuesday night. It will resume canvassing of votes on Wednesday at 10 a.m.—LDF, GMA NEWS
