NBOC receives first certificate of canvass from Malabon City

The Commission on Elections (Comelec), sitting as the National Board of Canvassers (NBOC), received the first hard copy of a certificate of canvass (COC) from Malabon City on Tuesday afternoon.

It was the first COC officially canvassed by the poll body in Eleksyon 2022 at around 7 p.m.

Lawyer Datumama Macaindig, chairperson of the Board of Canvassers (CBOC) in Malabon City, delivered two ballot boxes containing certificate of canvass, statement of votes, and one backup CD for the Eleksyon 2022 results in the city for senators and party-list groups.

The NBOC resumed session on Tuesday at 1:17 p.m.

However, the NBOC suspended its canvass after no complete certificates of canvass have been received.

Only 31 out of 83 provincial certificates of canvass (COCs) transmitted as of 6:01 p.m.

Meanwhile, poll Commissioner George Garcia moved to defer the canvassing of COC from Abra while waiting for a hard copy of its COC.

The NBOC rules that physical copies of the results need to be received by the poll body first.
