Tulfo, Legarda top senatorial picks in Pulse Asia's April 2022 survey


Broadcast journalist Raffy Tulfo and Antique Representative Loren Legarda were the most preferred senatorial candidates in Pulse Asia Research Inc.'s survey conducted in April.

In a poll result released on Monday, Pulse Asia reported that Tulfo scored a 50.4% rating while Legarda received 49.4%.

They were followed by actor Robin Padilla with 42.9%, Taguig Representative Alan Peter Cayetano with 42.3%, Sorsogon Governor Francis Escudero with 38.6%, and Senator Sherwin Gatchalian with 37%.

Other senatorial aspirants who have a statistical chance of winning in the coming polls include Senator Miguel Zubiri with 37%, former Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar with 35.9%, former senator JV Ejercito with 34.3%, former Vice President Jejomar Binay with 32.5%, Senator Risa Hontiveros with 32.3%, and former senator Jinggoy Estrada with 32.3%.

Trailing behind were former Quezon City mayor Herbert Bautista with 26.6%, Senator Joel Villanueva with 26.5%, former Information and Communications Technology secretary Gregorio "Gringo" Honasan II with 22.4%, Senator Richard Gordon  with 19.3%, former senator Antonio Trillanes IV with 19%, and former presidential spokesperson Harry Roque with 17.9%.

The survey was taken using face-to-face interviews of 2,400 respondents aged 18 and above who are registered voters and are likely to vote in the May 2022 elections.

The survey conducted from April 16 to 21, 2022 has a ±2% error margin at the 95% confidence level, according to Pulse Asia.

The Pulse Asia survey also showed that former senator Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. remained on top among presidential candidates with 56% rating followed by Vice President Leni Robredo with 23%.

Meanwhile, Marcos' running mate Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte also maintained her lead in the vice presidential survey with a rating of 55%, followed by Senate President Vicente Sotto III with 18%.—AOL, GMA News
