Archdiocese of Manila calls on faithful to pray the Rosary from April 30 to election day

The Archdiocese of Manila on Saturday urged the faithful to pray the rosary as families and communities from April 30 to May 9 - election day - "as we lift up to the Lord and entrust to the maternal intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary the forthcoming elections.”

In a pastoral letter titled "Narito and Inyong Ina," Jose F. Cardinal Advincula and Manila's bishops said that despite the "enemy's" daunting use of fake news, trolls, and distorted history, there was nothing to fear.

And since Christ had given us his Mother to care for us, She has repeatedly come to our aid.

The bishops' pastoral letter also encouraged the faithful to seek and defend the truth and reminded them to vote for those candidates who will promote the common good, especially those who are poor and marginalized.

The archdiocese also called for prayers for the Commission on Elections (COMELEC).

According to the Archdiocese of Manila's Office of Communications, the pastoral letter will be read in all Masses on the Second Sunday of Easter - from the evening of April 23 and the whole day of April 24. — DVM, GMA News
