Aika Robredo asks NBI to probe fake sex video
The daughter of Vice President Leni Robredo, Aika, has formally sought the assistance of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to probe the spread of her fake videos circulating online.
The camp of Robredo on Thursday confirmed that a letter was sent to the NBI asking for assistance.
"The past few days have seen a sudden surge of uploads and posts in various blogs, porn sites, and social media platforms that mislead the public and give the impression that our client has videos or photos allegedly showing her in a scandalous pose or act," the letter read.
It added that the use of Robredo’s name to entice the general public to click on these links exposes her to ridicule and subjects her person and her reputation to abuse and harassment.
"We are filing this not just for Aika, but for all those who could be victimized by these online predators. We will not stop until the perpetrators of this atrocious act are behind bars," Atty. Pingki Bartolome, co-counsel of Robredo, said.
Through NBI’s tools and equipment, Robredo hoped that the source and the person/s responsible will be identified and proper charges will be filed.
The Vice President earlier accused the camp of fellow presidential candidate and former senator Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos, Jr. of being behind the smear campaign against her daughter Aika.
