Over P1.2 million in marijuana seized, suspect nabbed in Kalinga operation
Joint operatives of the Philippine National Police (PNP) and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) arrested a drug suspect and seized over P1.2 million in marijuana during a weekend buy-bust operation in Tabuk City, Kalinga.
Police Regional Office Cordillera Director Police Brigadier General Ronald Oliver Lee said Jeboy Amangan, a 22-year-old student, was arrested in the operation at Sitio Pakak, Barangay Agbannawag on April 17.
Abel Agaoy, Amangan's alleged companion, was able to elude arrest, according to a police report.
Seized during the operation were 10 bricks of dried marijuana leaves and stalks weighing more or less 10 kilograms with a standard drug price of P1.2 million.
Meanwhile, 50 grams of dried marijuana leaves and stalks found in a carton were worth P6,000.
The arrested suspect and the evidence were brought to the Kalinga PPO for documentation and proper disposition.
Amangan would face charges for violation of R.A. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. — DVM, GMA News
