Bato dela Rosa asks public to vote for UniTeam Senate bets
Senator Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa on Wednesday urged the public to vote for senatorial candidates under the BBM-Sara UniTeam slate, saying they would help ensure the passage of bills in the Senate.
At a campaign rally in Quezon City, Dela Rosa represented vice presidential aspirant and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte, the running mate of former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
Dela Rosa said it was difficult to pass measures because of too much opposition from other legislators.
“‘Yung ating mga senador ng UniTeam dapat kailangan natin ‘yan ngayon pagpasok ng 19th Congress,” Dela Rosa said.
“Kailangan natin ng suporta nila dahil ngayon sa 18th Congress, hirap kami makapagpalusot ng batas para sa kabutihan ng lahat dahil maraming nagooppose. Pero kung ‘yung UniTeam ay makapasok, makasama namin siguro smooth-sailing na tayong lahat,” he added.
Senatorial aspirants under the Marcos-Duterte slate include Rodante Marcoleta, Sherwin Gatchalian, Loren Legarda, Harry Roque, Larry Gadon, Mark Villar, Jinggoy Estrada, Herbert Bautista, Robin Padilla, Juan Miguel Zubiri, Gilbert Teodoro, and Gregorio Honasan.
Marcos was in Quezon City to campaign for his presidential bid. His message to the crowd centered on unity, just like his previous speeches to the public.
Members of the media tried to interview him after the event but to no avail.
One of his media officers even blocked the hand and camera of one online reporter, preventing the latter to ask questions to Marcos.
