Why Philippines is 'Patient Zero' in disinformation crisis according to UP prof

In the latest episode of The Howie Severino Podcast,  University of the Philippines Professor and Digital Media Researcher Fatima Gaw shares her knowledge and insights on the country’s growing disinformation crisis, its effect on democracy, history and why it is similar to the coronavirus.

"A lot reports actually labeled the Philippines as Patient Zero of disinformation crisis globally," Gaw said.

"And whatever the strategies and tactics executed in the US election, Brexit campaign, nauna na 'yan sa Pilipinas. Parang ito 'yung experimentation. Tayo ang guinea pig ng disinformation operations," she added.
