DOH reports new record low for a day with 225 new COVID-19 cases


The Department of Health (DOH) Tuesday reported 225 new COVID-19 infections, lowest COVID-19 tally this year, adding the nationwide caseload to 3,679,983.

The previous lowest daily COVID-19 tally reported was 246 on Tuesday, March 29.

Based on the DOH’s latest data on its website, the country's active case count stood at 33,629.

Among the top regions with cases in the recent two weeks were the National Capital Region (NCR) with 1,514, followed by Region 4-A with 569 and Region 6 with 394.

The DOH recorded 3,586,984 patients recovered from the viral disease, while the fatalities rose to 59,370.

The Health department said the bed occupancy in the country is 16.9%, with 5,592 beds occupied, while 27,579 vacant.

The DOH also logged 19,416 individuals tested, while 311 testing labs submitted as of April 4. -- BAP, GMA News
