246 new COVID-19 cases is lowest daily tally so far this year
The Philippines on Tuesday recorded the lowest daily COVID-19 case tally this year with 246 new infections, bringing the nationwide total cases to 3,677,616.
This brings the country's active case count to 41,145, according to the Department of Health (DOH)’s latest data posted on its website.
The previous lowest daily COVID-19 tally reported in 2022 was 290 on Tuesday, March 22.
The top regions with cases in the recent two weeks were the National Capital Region (NCR) with 1,759, followed by Region 4-A with 694 and Region 6 with 539.
A total of 3,577,433 individuals recovered from the viral disease, while the fatalities pushed to 59,038.
The Health department said at least 24.64% of the intensive care unit (ICU) beds for COVID-19 patients nationwide are in use.
Meanwhile, around 22.04% of isolation beds in the country were utilized, while 13.66% ward beds were also utilized. — BM, GMA News
