Philippines welcomes over 900K doses of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for children
The Philippines welcomed on Thursday a total of 936,000 doses of reformulated Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for children aged 5 to 11.
The latest batch of government-procured vaccine through the World Bank arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 past 8 p.m., according to the National Task Force (NTF) Against COVID-19.
The country also earlier received 942,000 doses of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for children on Wednesday night.
Meanwhile, the pilot rollout of COVID-19 vaccination for five to 11 years old in the country started in the National Capital Region (NCR) last February 7.
Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire reported that more than 65.2 million Filipinos are now fully vaccinated against COVID-19, while more than 70.4 million individuals received their first dose as of March 21.
She said that around 11.6 million individuals, on the other hand, are already boosted against the viral disease.
